Unlike Tekken 6, you no longer need to continue playing the game online to have your rank advance further beyond 1st Dan. The stages are very lively and really cool to look at, including Snoop Dogg's DLC stage. 
The customization from the 5th and 6th mainline games returns and has some new features such as decals and shading a color scheme of a certain part of an equipped item to your liking. Devil and Kazuya are now one character and you can switch between them anytime. The roster features all of the characters (except for Gon and Azazel) who have appeared in the mainline series, including newcomers at the time like Jinpachi Mishima (Incredibly nerfed to make him playable unlike his boss fight in Tekken 5), Christie Monteiro, Bob, and Lars Alexanderson. Like its predecessor, this game continues the fun and addicting two-on-two tag-team formula that keeps you playing over and over again.
